Applications received after classes have started will be considered for the following semester. A submitted application does not guarantee acceptance.
Students who wish to transfer from an outside institution should visit the Admissions website for information about applying. Please review the transfer course sheet for Biochemistry or Genetics for the required coursework for each major. Applicants are encouraged to complete the additional coursework.
When submitting your application, please be sure to explain why you would like to major in biochemistry or genetics. Each applicant’s record is reviewed by the admissions committee for the Undergraduate Programs.
Double Degree or Double Major in Biochemistry/Genetics
Out-of-department students who wish to pursue BICH or GENE as a double degree/major must have:
An overall GPA of at least 3.00
Credit for BIOL 111, BIOL 112, CHEM 119, CHEM 120 and MATH 151 or MATH 171 with a C or better in each course
Students within the department must have an overall GPA of 2.5 to pursue a double major.
