Howdy! I’m Dr. M. Megan Reynolds and I received my B.S. in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 1999 as a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and Corps of Cadets. After 5 years of research, I entered graduate school and earned my Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 2010. My work included generation of a deletion library in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, under the direction of Dr. Helene Andrews-Polymenis, for screening in mice. In 2009, prior to graduation, I was tasked with coordination of the undergraduate GENE 301 and 302 laboratory, becoming a full-time lecturer in 2010. The lab was paired with a comprehensive genetics lecture. Over the course of seven years, I overhauled the lab, modernizing procedures and materials, including the lab manual. I recently switched roles and have been teaching the GENE 301 lecture course since 2016, sharing my passion for genetics in a different forum.
