NACADA is the National Academic Advising Association and region 7 represents the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. On Saturday, March 9, the NACADA Regional 7 Conference was held in San Antonio, TX, where both Dr. Mary Bryk and Dr. Carol Vargas were recognized for their hard work as advisors!

Dr. Mary Bryk was the recipient of the 2019 TEXAAN Faculty Advisor Recognition Award by TEXAAN (Texas Academic Advising Association). This award is for an individual whose primary responsibility is teaching and who spends a portion of their time providing academic advising services to students. Congratulations, Dr. Bryk!

Dr. Carol Vargas was the recipient of the NACADA Region 7 New Advisor Award. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students and who have served as an advisor for a period of three or fewer years. Congratulations, Dr. Vargas!
