Dr. Gohil Named 2017-2018 Montague-Center for Teaching Excellence Scholar
December 8, 2017
The Office of the Dean of Faculties and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) proudly announce this year’s Montague-CTE Scholar to Vishal Gohil, PhD. “I feel honored to receive the Montague-CTE Scholar Award. This award is very gratifying especially because I feel passionate about my teaching and it is good to know that my efforts are recognized by the students, colleagues, and the university.”
Dr. Gohil will receive a $6,500 grant to research and develop innovative teaching techniques with outcomes made available to their faculty through the Center for Teaching Excellence. The Montague-CTE Scholar award is named in honor of Kenneth Montague ’37, a distinguished alumnus and outstanding trustee of Texas A&M University Development Foundation, who had a long and storied career in the Texas oil industry. Ken and Judy Montague endowed a generous gift in 1991 to benefit the future “Ken Montagues,” Aggies who are life-long learners and contributors to their communities. The Center is deeply grateful to his son, Jim, and wife, Vicki, for their generous and continued support that recognizes excellence in teaching and learning at Texas A&M University.
