Admissions and Aid

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is a burgeoning academic unit with an expanding cohort of approximately 600 students. We take pride in fostering a welcoming, hands-on learning environment that integrates teaching, research, and high-impact programs, molding adept thought leaders in the field. Our curriculum imparts world-class education, equipping graduates with versatile skills applicable to a wide spectrum of career paths. With a focus on the science and stewardship of biological diversity, ecosystems, and their services, our faculty provides innovative classroom and field learning experiences, preparing students for impactful roles in these vital domains. Graduates of Biochemistry and Biophysics emerge as astute critical thinkers well-equipped to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

Undergraduate Admissions

Students interested in pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry or Genetics in the department of Biochemistry and Biophysics must meet the university admissions requirements. BCBP has no department-specific requirements for undergraduate admission.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Students at Texas A&M get a world-class education at a reasonable cost—and graduate with far less college-related debt than their peers at other universities. We award numerous scholarships annually to undergraduate students in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics and support graduate students through scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, and travel and research grants. This funding is made possible by donors and supporters of the department including former students, family and friends, former faculty and industry sponsors.
